ICON Advisers has expanded its internal sales desk staff from eight to 12 in anticipation of expanding its external sales force in early 2006, the company announced Wednesday. The additional internal wholesalers come from TIAA/CREF, PIMCO, Wells Fargo and SunAmerica.

The move is to compliment plans to boost distribution through financial advisers and broker/dealers. "The internal sales desk is a key component of a distribution strategy which began early in 2004," said Stephen C. Holmes, ICON executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer. "We anticipate the efforts of the internal sales desk will have a measurable impact on ICON's growth. Our goal is to provide financial solutions that financial advisers can use to meet their financial goals."
