Connelly will cover the central region of the country and is the latest of three business development VPs to be named by the company. His counterparts include Ronald Doles and Donald Jackson who head the eastern and western regions, respectively.
Connelly formerly worked for Superior Bank, FSB where he was director of retail banking and responsible for the banks investment programs. Connelly developed a relationship with Independent as one of its clients, according to Robert Spadafora, president of Independent Financial.
The move to the sell side will be a challenge for Connelly, but his knowledge of Libertys products and the bank channel will allow him to excel in the position, a company spokeswoman said.
Prior to Superior, Connelly spent over 20 years in various banking and investment programs, according to the firm. He was involved in developing the development and management of dedicated and managed investment programs, the company said.
