Evergreen Funds has named Tim Curtin senior vice president, national sales manager - external sales. He joins the firm after working three years as director of national retail sales at Munder Capital Management in Birmingham, Mich.

The Aquila Tax-Free Fund for Utah has named R. Matthew Tullis, as its new portfolio manager. Tullis is a vice president of Zions First National Bank of Salt Lake City.

Mellon Bank announced that David F. Lamere has been named chairman and James P. Palermo, president of two Mellon subsidiaries, The Boston Company and Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Company. Lamere will continue to lead Mellon Private Asset Management. Palermo will continue to lead Global Securities Services, the institutional trust and custody arm of Mellon. In addition, Ronald P. Hanley will oversee New York-based Buck Consultants, Mellon's global benefits consulting firm.

Nvest announced that Douglas Keith has been named vice president of sales for Nvest Retirement Services. Prior to joining Nvest, Keith served as vice president and regional director for Diversified Investment Advisors, an investment advisory firm focused on the retirement marketplace. Nvest also named Thomas Cunningham as senior vice president, managing director and treasurer for New England Funds. Previously, Cunningham was vice president of Allmerica Life Insurance and Annuity Company and treasurer for Allmerica Investment Trust.

Funds Distributor Incorporated has announced several personnel changes. Vincent DiGaetano has joined the firm as senior vice president and national sales manager for DLJ Asset Management's Winthrop Funds. He previously was vice president at Evergreen Investment Services. Judith Benson has been hired as senior vice president and manager of strategic initiatives. Gary MacDonald was promoted to the position of senior vice president.
