Invest Lures Two CUNA Execs

Invest has hired Joe Salomone, CUNA Brokerage Service’s director of brokerage sales, according to sources. Salomone had been with CUNA since June 2001, according to his LinkedIn page.

Salomone will report to his former CUNA boss, Steve Dowden, now Invest’s president and CEO. Dowden, who was president and CEO of CUNA Brokerage Services for nine years, moved to Invest in October 2009.

Jim Metz, Dowden’s replacement as president of CUNA Brokerage Services, was circumspect. “This is a competitive market and people leaving for another organization is just part of the business. We wish Joe the best in his new endeavor,” he said in an emailed response.

Invest confirmed that Salomone has accepted a title regional sales manager for the Midwest, but declined to comment further.

Invest also hired Dave Hunter, national accounts sales manager at CUNA Brokerage Services, as financial institution recruiter for the East Coast.
