Janus Launches Moderate Allocation Portfolio

Janus has launched the Janus Aspen Moderate Allocation Portfolio, specifically designed for the insurance channel. The portfolio is a fund-of-funds that will invest in other Janus products with a target of 60% of its underlying holdings in stocks and 40% in fixed income.

The fund is primarily benchmarked against the S&P 500 Index, with a secondary benchmark of Janus’ proprietary index Moderate Allocation Index, which combines the returns of the Dow Jones Wilshire 5000 Index, Barclays Capital U.S. Aggregate Bond Index, MSCI EAFE Index and MSCI Emerging Markets Index.

“With the market conditions of the last 36 months, our insurance partners are looking beyond traditional asset classes to risk-managed, hedgeable investment solutions,” said the fund’s manager, Janus SVP and Chief Risk Officer Dan Scherman.
