Lazard Launches Emerging Markets Fund

Lazard Asset Management has launched an emerging markets fund, the Lazard Developing Markets Equity Portfolio, which will use a bottom-up stock selection process and which the company is offering to investors as an alternative to value and emerging-markets funds.

To be co-managed by Kevin O’Hare and Peter Gillespie, the fund will primarily invest in the 60 to 90 of the securities in the MSCI Emerging Markets Index with a market capitalization of $300 million or more. O’Hare and Gillespie will analyze stocks not only for their performance but also for their political, corporate, governance and macro and portfolio risk.
