Legg Mason Lays Off 120 People

Legg Mason has laid off 120 employees, 20 of whom worked in mutual fund administration and 100 of whom worked in its Western Asset Management subsidiary.

Besides laying off 200 people, or 8% of its workforce, in December, Legg Mason is also taking other cost-cutting measures to save $135 million a year.
