Loomis Sayles Loses PM to Eaton Vance

Kathleen Gaffney, a former member of Loomis, Sayles & Company’s multisector “full discretion” fixed income portfolio management team, has left the firm to join Eaton Vance Investment Managers as co-director of Investment Grade Fixed Income.

She will serve alongside Thomas Luster as co-leader of the investment grade fixed income team and will report to Payson Swaffield, chief income investment officer.

In a memo, Dan Fuss, portfolio manager, vice Chairman, Loomis, Sayles & Company, wrote that: “Kathleen has been with our organization since 1982 and it has been a great pleasure working with her—we all wish her the very best in her new endeavor.”

Fuss also assured investors that portfolio managers at Loomis Sayles work in a team environment and that he feels strongly about the current fixed income team’s “ability to generate great investment ideas, working hand-in-hand with their research and trading partners across the firm.”
