Lipper announced the winners of the United States Lipper Fund Awards 2011 Wednesday evening.
MFS Investment Management won for Best Overall Fund Group – Large, and Delaware Management Company won for Best Overall Fund Group – Small.
PIMCO took the honors for Best Equity Fund Group – Large, and Hotchkiss & Wiley Capital Management won for Best Equity Fund Group – Small.
Loomis Sayles & Co. won for Best Bond Fund Group – Large, and Delaware Management Co. won for Best Bond Fund Group – Small.
Janus was honored for Best Mixed Assets Group – Large, and Delaware won for Best Mixed Assets Group – Small.
“Congratulations to all of the Lipper Fund Award Winners who are proven leaders in providing consistent risk-adjusted performance, allowing investors to build more wealth over time,” said Jeff Tjornehoj, head of Lipper Americas Research.
Winning for a new category, the Lipper Award for Excellence in Fund Management, was Clyde McGregor, co-manager of the Oakmark Global and Oakmark Equity & Income funds.
“We are excited to award our-first ever Lipper Award for Excellence in Fund Management to Clyde McGregor of Oakmark to honor his impressive total returns over five years and shareholder-friendly expenses, an accomplishment that truly embodies the essence of investing excellence,” Tjornehoj said.
Among the 71 individual funds that were honored was the Allianz RCM Disciplined International Equity Fund, as the leading international large cap core fund. The Morgan Stanley Capital Opportunities Trust fund won as the leading multi-cap growth fund, and the USAA Cornerstone Strategy Fund took the honors as the top global flexible portfolio fund.
