As you take your website and even your practice mobile, it’s time to do the same for your social media efforts.
“Get comfortable with mobile applications and tools that allow you to share content and engage in social networking on the go,” says Stephanie Sammons, founder of Wired Advisor, a digital marketing firm for advisors.
Use the Twitter, FB, and LinkedIn apps, as well as third-party apps -- such as Buffer App, Pocket, Hootsuite and more -- for sourcing, saving and sharing content on the go, says Sammons. “There are lots of apps available for smart phones and tablets (and even desktop apps) that can enhance your social networking experience and help you stay visible and valuable with your target markets.”
Make sure your website, blog and email marketing content is mobile ready and friendly, too, she adds. “The other part of it is having a responsive website or blog that looks great regardless of device, and formatting email newsletters for consumption on mobile devices,” Sammons says. “Going mobile will help you increase efficiency and make it easier for your network to follow and share your content.”
Mobile access is changing the rate of social adoption and the increase of engagement, and advisors won’t want to miss out.
“With mobile devices including tablets and smartphones it’s never been easier to be online 24/7 and engage from anywhere with a connection,” says Victor Gaxiola, social media expert at Actiance. “Brands that don’t now have a mobile strategy are at risk of becoming obsolete compared to those that do. “Embracing location discovery for client acquisition, recognition and engagement is the next frontier of enhanced brand experience for consumers,” Gaxiola adds.
