Money Fund Assets Approach $3.5 Trillion

While institutional investors unloaded a net $2.14 billion in money market fund assets in the week ended April 22, retail investors rushed to safety, placing $3.77 billion in money market funds, bringing the category’s total AUM to $2.451 trillion, according to iMoneyNet’s Money Fund Report, Dow Jones reports.

 

Taxable money market funds’ assets rose by $8.90 to $2.956 trillion, while tax-free money market fund assets lost $7.27 trillion, leaving that category’s total AUM at $494.71 billion as of Tuesday.
