Morningstar Asia has recognized Steve Lear, head of Schroders' New York-based team, as 2005 manager of the year.

He and his team won the North American Fixed Income category for the Hong Kong region, for managing the Schroder ISF US Dollar Bond.

The Manager of the Year award is based on a few factors, including: the consistency of the investment strategy and dedication to investors, long-term risk-adjusted returns, stability of the management team, and one-year performance of the fund.

"This is a great recognition for Steve and for Schroders' fixed income team," said Peter Clark, CEO of Schroders America. "Over the years, we have built an exceptional fixed income team in the U.S. with a diverse range of products that span the risk spectrum."
