Mutual Funds Lose $2 Billion

Mutual funds suffered total estimated outflows of $2.0 billion for the week ended Wednesday, December 5, according to data from the Investment Company Institute.

Equity funds had estimated outflows of $7.16 billion for the week, compared to estimated outflows of $627 million in the previous week.

Hybrid funds, which can invest in stocks and fixed income securities, had estimated outflows of $70 million for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $144 million in the previous week.

And bond funds had estimated inflows of $5.23 billion, compared to estimated inflows of $4.25 billion during the previous week.
