Nasdaq Names Ex-Ebay, Schwab Exec as CIO

Nasdaq OMX Group said it hired Bradley Peterson as its global chief information officer. Peterson has served in similar capacities at both Charles Schwab & Co. and eBay.

He will report to Anna Ewing, the long-time Nasdaq CIO, who Thursday was put in charge of a new Global Technology Solutions business that combines Nasdaq’s sales of technology and clearing services with information services it provides to corporations.

Peterson had been chief information officer for Charles Schwab Technology Services and, for five years, the online marketplace eBay.

At Nasdaq, he will be responsible for developing systems that support and expand Nasdaq’s markets and the technologies it sells to other markets.

“His priority will be to enable a better experience for our customers, partners and employees,’’ said Ewing.

At Schwab, he oversaw teams that developed mobile brokerage and banking applications, online services to customers and means of recruiting technical talent.

At eBay, he oversaw the implementation of a business intelligence platform that allowed the online auction company to analyze the ongoing performance of its wide range of categories of items for sale.
