Neuberger Berman Readies Emerging Markets Income Fund

Neuberger Berman has filed with the SEC to offer an Emerging Markets Income Fund. The move follows the news reported by MME earlier this month that the firm had hired 22 emerging markets debt investment professionals, 19 of whom joined the firm from ING Investment Management, where they managed over US$16 billion in EMD assets.

The fund seeks high total return consisting of income and capital appreciation, according to the filing. Expenses range from 91 basis points for Institutional shares to 203 bps for Class C shares.

The fund is managed by Rob Drijkoningen, Gorky Urquieta , Bart Van der Made, Raoul Luttik,Jennifer Gorgoll and Nish Popat, all managing directors of Neuberger Berman Management and Neuberger Berman Fixed Income, as well Vera Kartseva, vice president.

Neuberger Berman Management is the fund’s advisor and Neuberger Berman Fixed Income is the subadvisor.

A spokesman for the firm declined to comment.
