New Normal for iShares?

iShares is looking to ring in the New Year in a contrarian way.

The firm has filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission to raise fees on 40 of its 280 funds in its ETF lineup effective Jan. 1, Index Universe reports.

The funds affected include the $47 billion iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Fund (EEM) and the $9.33 billion iShares MSCI Brazil Fund (EWZ).
