NICSA Develops Mutual Fund Course

The National Investment Company Services Association of Wellesley Hills, Mass., and The New England College of Finance of Boston have jointly developed an undergraduate-level course on mutual funds designed for new hires.

Called "Management of Mutual Funds," the course is designed to give participants an extensive overview of mutual fund management and operations. It covers portfolio management of stocks and bonds, brokerage transactions, shareholder servicing, federal and state regulatory oversight, mutual fund marketing and distribution, selling mutual funds internationally, technology and the role of mutual funds in society.

To qualify for the class, a student must have a bachelor's degree and two to three years' experience in the financial industry. The class will run from September through November. For further information, call Ellen Weinraub, NICSA marketing manager, at (781) 416-7200.
