NY Firm Launches Mid-Cap Fund

Rye, NY-based Teton Advisors has launched the TETON Westwood Mid-Cap Equity Fund (WMCEX) to bet on undervalued companies with market capitalizations between $1 billion to $20 billion.

The fund will be managed by lead portfolio manager/managing director Diane Wehner and PM/managing director Charles Stuart.

"We are excited about the launch of the TETON Westwood Mid-Cap Equity Fund, which is being managed by a world class team," stated Nicholas Galluccio, president and chief executive officer of Teton Advisors. "We can now offer this institutionally managed strategy to the retail investor."

Teton currently manages seven open-end mutual funds under the TETON Westwood brand, along with separately managed accounts. At March 31 Teton's assets under management were $1.4 billion.
