OppenheimerFunds Chairman Murphy Joins Korn/Ferry

OppenheimerFunds Chairman John V. Murphy has joined Korn/Ferry as managing director for the asset and wealth management sector of the global financial market.

Murphy was with OppenheimerFunds for eight years, most recently as chairman, and previously as chief executive officer and president. During his tenure, he expanded the company’s focus beyond traditional mutual funds to funds-of-funds and high-net-worth and institutional businesses.

Murphy served as the chairman of the Investment Company Institute. Earlier in his career, he led various businesses for MassMutual Financial Group, including its 401(k), defined benefit, annuity, international and institutional asset management businesses.

“John’s leadership, expertise and deep relationships at the CEO and board level will play a critical role in raising the already-strong reputation and profile of Korn/Ferry’s financial services market in the investment management world,” said Michael Franzino, global market managing director of financial services at Korn/Ferry.

Michael P. Castine, chairman of Korn/Ferry’s asset and wealth management sector, added, “This is a world-class strategic hire for Korn/Ferry’s asset and wealth management business.”
