Putnam Hires Marshall as Head of Investment Product Management

Putnam Investments has appointed Kelly Marshall as head of investment product management.

Marshall will be responsible for all aspects for product management and development across Putnam’s retail, institutional and retirement businesses. She originally joined the firm in 2009 as director of market planning and analytics.

Laura McNamara, spokeswoman for Putnam, said that Marshall is replacing Chris Thompson, who has left the Boston-based firm.

In her new role, she will report to Jeffrey Carney, head of global marketing, products and retirement. Her responsibilities will also include “driving the firm’s ongoing commitment to creating and managing innovative investment product solutions to address the needs of Putnam’s clients,” Putnam said in a statement Monday.

"Under Kelly’s leadership, Putnam will continue to build a product line-up for clients and investors that seeks to capitalize on unique market opportunities, and address an array of environmental factors, such as longevity, income needs volatility concerns inflation fears and more,” Carney said.

Marshall’s experience includes positions held at Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors, Accenture and Fidelity Investments.
