Putnam Offers Suite of Target Absolute-Return Funds

Putnam Investments has unveiled a suite of funds that seek to deliver returns of 1% to 7% above Treasury bills.

Unlike other absolute return funds tied to outpacing the performance of market indices, Putnam said, its funds are designed to deliver positive returns, no matter what the market’s direction, and to do that with less volatility than traditional funds.

“Investors are financial advisers are hungry for solutions that target positive returns in good markets or bad, and offer a way to venture back into investing,” said Putnam President and CEO Robert L. Reynolds. “Diversification and commitment to absolute-return strategies can be crucial to long-term investment success, and we believe investors will welcome the opportunity to invest in these funds.”
