Putnam Places QR Codes on Shareholder Statements

Putnam Investments announced Wednesday that it has become the first fund company to place Quick Response (QR), or smartphone codes, on its second quarter 2011 shareholder statements—leading investors to current information on its website, including fund manager insights.

“Investors, like most Americans, increasingly rely on their smartphones to access the information they need,” said Michael Woodall, head of mutual fund shareholder services at Putnam. “We are committed to enabling our shareholders to access timely, relevant information through every means possible. The new codes are another highly effective way for Putnam to stay in close regular contact with its customers.”
