Raymond James Hires $2M Team

Longleaf

Raymond James hired four advisors who managed nearly $400 million in combined client assets, the firm said.

The new hires, who left Wells Fargo and Davenport & Company, joined Raymond James in two offices in Raleigh and Smithfield, N.C.

The advisors had over $2 million in annual fees and commissions, according to Raymond James.

The team, which operates as Longleaf Wealth Advisory Group of Raymond James, includes William Wellons, Jr., Scott Abee, James Forrester and John Robinson.

Wellons said in a statement that they made the move because they were attracted to culture at Raymond James.

Wellons entered the industry as an advisor in 1976 and worked for Wells Fargo for nine years, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. Abee began his career in 1986 and worked for Davenport for 14 years. Forrester worked for Wells Fargo for six years after he became an advisor in 2006. Robinson, an advisor since 2008, worked for Davenport for about two years before he was hired by Raymond James.

Also making the move are senior client service associate Charlotte Pope and registered client service associates Stephanie Kidd and Donna Batten.
