Raymond James hires three wirehouse veterans with $487M

Raymond James hired three veteran wirehouse advisors with $487 million in combined assets to its employee channel in another victory for its expansion in the Northeast.

The advisors joined the firm in March from Merrill Lynch and UBS in three states: Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

They also join a slew of recruits at Raymond James, which increased its headcount by 3% year-over-year to reach 7,862 independent and employee advisors, according to its most recent earnings report.

Raymond James’ newest hires are industry veterans. Advisor Bill Miller has 25 years of industry experience, including stints at UBS and Prudential, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. The New Haven, Connecticut-based advisor joined Raymond James from Merrill Lynch, where he was responsible for $160 million in client assets, according to his new employer.

Thirty-two-year industry veteran Dominick DiBona had worked with UBS for more than a decade, and previously spent more than six years each at Morgan Stanley, Salomon Smith Barney, and Prudential, according to BrokerCheck. The Garden City, New York-based advisor managed more than $190 million, according to Raymond James.

In Morristown, New Jersey, Leonard Boniface managed more than $137 million for Merrill Lynch, according to Raymond James. Boniface started his career at Merrill in 2003, according to BrokerCheck.

A spokesman from UBS declined to comment. A spokeswoman from Merrill Lynch did not immediately respond for comment.
