Raymond James Nabs $900K Producer From Edward Jones

An Edward Jones advisor who managed $175 million in client assets has left the firm for the independent advisory channel at Raymond James.

Advisor Billy C. Belcher joined Raymond James Financial Services, and will be working from Texas City, Texas, said Kirk Bell, a regional director for the central region in a press release.

"We look forward to providing him the superior technology and comprehensive support he needs to serve his clients and continue to grow his practice,” Bell noted in the release.

Belcher operates as Belcher Wealth Management. Previously, he worked for Edward Jones in Baytown, Texas, for 27 years. He had an annual production of about $900,000 before leaving the firm, according to the release. Belcher, in the statement, said the "time was right" for him to go independent.

"An old friend had moved from Edward Jones to Raymond James some 25 years ago," Belcher recalled, "and had been telling me how satisfied he was and what a great firm it was -- and after much due diligence, I made the move."

In early January, the independent channel at Raymond James lured away an advisor managing over $114 million in client assets. Advisor Danielle Blunt and branch assistants Veronica Ortiz and Meredith Gauck at Blunt Wealth Services had an annual production of almost $900,000.
