Retirement Plan Growth Fuels Domini Fund

The Domini Social Equity Fund reached the $1 billion in assets under management landmark, thanks largely to retirement plan growth. Thirty percent of the fund's net inflows have come through retirement plans over the past year, according to officials at Domini Social Investments of New York.

That is good news for Domini. Through May, the fund family was the ninth-fastest-growing mutual fund family in the country this year, according to Strategic Insight of New York. The Domini Social Equity Fund's assets grew by 32.9 percent during the first five months of the year. The fund industry as a whole grew by 2.8 percent for the same period, according to Domini.
