Reuters Acquires European Fund Research Firm

Reuters has signed an agreement to acquire Feri Fund Market Information, a London-based mutual fund data, analysis and research firm.

Reuters said the value of the gross assets it is acquiring is $4 million and that it will fold the business into its Lipper unit.

Feri Fund Market Information is a subsidiary of Feri Rating and Research, which, in turn, is owned by MLP, a German financial services company.

Under the agreement, Lipper will supply fund data to another MLP subsidiary, Feri Finance.

“The Feri team and businesses are a great addition to Lipper’s global funds operation and will play a key part in delivering real insight to the funds industry,” said Lipper CEO Michael Peace, who is also Reuters’ global head of research and asset management.
