Securian Adds 12 Funds to Retirement Platform

Securian Retirement has added 12 investment choices to its retirement platform, including funds from AllianceBernstein, Nuveen, Manning & Napier and Pax World. With these additions, the platform how offers an array of 120 investments for participants and plan sponsors.

“Our due diligence committee selects investment options using qualitative and quantitative criteria, with emphasis on low expenses, risk-adjusted performance and solid asset managers with consistent investment processes backed by stable investment firms,” said Kent Peterson of Securian. “We allocate all fund company allowances back to participants on a daily basis, meaning our process is fair to our participant investors and free of conflicts of interest or incentive to use funds that pay higher revenue sharing.”

The funds are: PIMCO Long Duration Total Return Fund, BlackRock Global Allocation Fund, BlackRock Capital Appreciation Fund, American Century Mid Cap Value Fund, Eaton Vance Atlanta Capital SMID Cap Fund, AllianceBernstein U.S Small Cap Value Fund, DePrince Rate & Zollo Small Cap Value Fund, Manning & Napier Overseas Series, T. Rowe Price Health Sciences Fund, Nuveen Tradewinds Global Resources Fund, Pax World Global Green Fund and Invesco International Growth Fund.

“We identified high priority asset classes within our array, based on our own assessment and client and adviser feedback,” Peterson said. “The new options either expand the depth of our offerings in a given asset class or replace options that no longer meet our standards.”
