Socially Responsible Investing Offers Ray of Hope in Downturn

Socially responsible investing has been offering one of the few positives for investors during the recession, the Orlando Sun-Sentinel reports.

Of the total $25 trillion in professionally managed assets worldwide, $2.7 trillion, 10.8% is held in SRI funds.

With the markets delivering such poor returns, SRI funds, whose 20-year track record is on par with the S&P 500 Index, offer investors a way to feel positive about making investments that are sensitive to environmental, human rights and other social issues.
