SSgA Snags Ex-MFS, Fidelity Exec

State Street Global Advisors has appointed Maria Dwyer as chief risk officer, effective immediately. Dwyer previously served as chief regulatory officer at MFS Investment Management.

Dwyer joined MFS in 2004, and during her tenure held a range of senior level positions in Compliance, Fund Treasury and Risk Management. Prior to joining MFS, Dwyer was president and treasurer for the Fidelity Group of Funds at Fidelity Management and Research Company.

“Maria brings a combination of experience in key risk and compliance oversight roles as well as operations and processes in investment management,” stated Scott Powers, president and chief executive officer of SSgA.
