Stifel recruits $180M team from RBC

Two veteran advisers left RBC to join Stifel, according to a spokesman.

The team previously oversaw approximately $180 million in assets, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Veteran advisers Mark Wielinga and Rosario Petrizzo joined Stifel in St. Joseph, Michigan. They are the latest advisers to join Stifel, which recruited a number of regional and wirehouse advisers last year.

"We are very excited to expand our Michigan footprint," John Pierce, head of adviser recruiting at the firm, said in a statement.

Last month, the St. Louis-based firm said it hired a Raymond James branch manager to lead recruiting efforts in Texas. Eleanor Jordan joined Stifel's office in Austin, where she will oversee 17 advisers in both that office and another branch in nearby Corpus Cristi.

Stifel's newest recruits made the move in part due to Stifel's investment offerings and technology, Wielinga said in a statement.

Wielinga and Petrizzo had been with RBC since 2008, having previously worked at A.G. Edwards.

Petrizzo started his career at Merrill Lynch in 1981, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. He later moved to Prudential Securities in 1988. Wielinga began his career at the firm in 1992, per BrokerCheck records.
