Stocks Wrap Up Seesaw Week With Decent Gains

Investors opted to view the glass as half full Friday, pushing stocks higher despite conflicting economic reports on personal income and home sales.

The Dow rallied up 124 points to finish at 12,294.00 while the Nasdaq and S&P 500 added, 19 points and 11 points, respectively.

Investors mustered on despite conflicting economic reports.

Consumer spending and personal income rose only 0.1% in November, well below market expectations. In another report, new U.S. single-family home sales rose to a seven-month high in November and the supply of houses on the market was the lowest in more than five years, an important sign of recovery in the sector.
