SunAmerica of New York will air its first television commercials for its mutual funds this week, a company spokesperson said.

Called "Where Do You Want to Be?" the spots were developed in-house from a CD-ROM that SunAmerica developed for broker/dealers several years ago, said Betsy Treitler, vice president of marketing and communications at SunAmerica.

The ads will run exclusively on CNBC, with which SunAmerica signed a one-year deal in the New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Phoenix markets, Treitler said. She declined to disclose the budget.

The commercials are designed to provoke viewers' imaginations about where they would like to be in three, five or ten years, with tempting pictures of sports action shots and beautiful scenery, Treitler said.
