SunTrust Launches Web Site For STI Classic Funds

Sun Trust Banks has launched a separate Web site for its STI Classic family of mutual funds. Information about the funds was previously available through SunTrust's primary site.

The site is designed for potential investors, existing shareholders, brokers and advisers who sell the funds. It includes financial planning tools for shareholders and prospective investors, as well as tools, seminars and sales ideas for investment professionals, according to Monica Champion, group VP of SunTrust's Internet and eBusiness unit, which developed the site.

The new Web site "offers visitors more useful tools, more information, and more engaging interaction [to serve] existing and potential clients on a national basis," said Jeff Vogelbacker, a product manager for the STI Classic Funds.

Vogelbacker is also a managing director at Trusco Capital Management, an affiliate of SunTrust and manager of the STI funds. "The new site permits us to efficiently meet the demand for information that has accompanied the funds' significant growth in assets, expanded shareholder base and extended availability."

The STI Classic Funds, first introduced in 1992, now consist of 40 funds with more than $25 billion in assets under management, according to SunTrust.
