Threadneedle Launches Two Global Mutual Funds

Asset manager Threadneedle International Limited has launched two new mutual funds in the U.S., reaffirming its commitment to the U.S. marketplace.

The Threadneedle Global Equity Income Fund looks for growth on a global basis and regards growth as a function of income and capital appreciation. Managed by Stephen Thornber, the fund invests in stocks that pay high regular dividends.

The Threadneedle Global Extended Alpha Fund uses a long/short investment strategy to take advantage of global opportunities to generate alpha. Managed by Andrew Holliman, the fund looks for risk-adjusted measures of above-market return.

“We believe investors are well served with global funds that allow their managers to identify promising investment opportunities in all corners of the world, without regard to geographic location,” said William Lowndes, head of distribution for the U.S. “Global investing has long been one of Threadneedle’s strengths.”

The funds are available through Threadneedle and RiverSource Investments, both of which are wholly owned subsidiaries of Ameriprise Financial.
