U.S. ETFs Total $1.4T

U.S. exchange-traded fund assets totaled $1.41 trillion as of Feb. 28– up 5.1% year-to-date, according to State Street Global Advisor’s latest ETF Snapshot.

In February, investors added $7.7 billion more to ETFs than they withdrew, as dividend/fundamental and international-developed ETFs attracted $3.1 billion and $1.7 billion of inflows respectively.

Not surprisingly, the top three managers in the U.S. were BlackRock, SSgA and Vanguard Group. Collectively, they account for some 84% of the U.S.-listed ETF market. The top three ETFs in terms of dollar volume traded for the month were the SDPR S&P 500 (SPY), iShares Russell 200 (IVVM) and PowerShares QQQ (QQQ).
