Walt Bettinger, president and chief executive officer of Charles Schwab & Co., officially joined Twitter last week.
Why? In a missive to investors on June 5, Bettinger said that: “We have seen a significant interest among our clients and investors in general in using Twitter as a means of sharing and communicating. So it felt right for me to join the fray. You’ll find me engaging in a number of ways on Twitter, but my focus will be on a handful of themes -- namely leadership, innovation and customer loyalty -- and I hope to spark some interesting discussions along the way.”
Bettinger added that he’ll be tweeting on topics such as leadership, innovation and customer loyalty among others @WaltBettinger. He’ll join Vanguard Group’s CEO Bill McNabb on the twittersphere in light of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s friendlier stance on social media.
