Wasatch PM Takes on Flagship Fund

One of Wasatch Advisors' investment managers has been added as a portfolio manager on a flagship fund.

JB Taylor will join long-time lead portfolio manager Jeff Cardon on the Wasatch Small Cap Growth Fund on Jan. 31. Cardon, who is also chief executive officer of Wasatch, has been managing the fund since its inception in 1986.

Taylor will continue to serve as lead portfolio manager on the Wasatch Core Growth Fund (WGROX), which he has managed for more than 12 years.

"Adding JB as a manager on our oldest fund is consistent with our history of executing based on a long-range plan," Cardon said in a press release.

The Wasatch Small Cap Growth Fund manages over $1.8 billion in assets and the Wasatch Core Growth Fund manages over $630 million in assets.

All told, Salt Lake City, Utah-based Wasatch Funds managed over $9 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, 2012.
