Wells Fargo Picks Up RBC Vet

Wells Fargo has built out its presence in Denver, Colo., with the addition of a former RBC advisor with $150 million in assets under management.

The firm has tapped John Claxton to be first vice president of investments in the Greenwood Village, Colo., office. Claxton, who joined on August 1st, has more than three decades of experience.

He began his career at Dain Rauscher in 1978, and joined RBC in 1998 after a series of mergers, according to FINRA registration records.

At Wells Fargo, he reports to Mark Fellows, branch manager, and Marc Beshany, the market manager for the broader Colorado market.

Wells Fargo had some 15,268 advisors in its retail brokerage division at the end of June, up only slightly from 15,170 a year ago.
