Wilshire announces new index fund

Wilshire Associates announced that the first Wilshire 5000 Index Fund will be launched Feb. 1. The fund will seek to replicate the index while keeping transaction costs low.

Shares of the fund in both individual and institutional classes will be available for a minimum investment of $1,000. Investors can also invest a minimum of $100 per transaction at selected intervals through the Wilshire Target Funds Accumulation Plan.

Expenses on the Wilshire Fund, after waiver, are expected to be 0.35 percent for both share classes, with a .20 percent 12b-1 fee for the retail class.
