In a new episode of the Financial Planning Podcast, financial advisor Zaneilia Harris explains how she identified her practice’s base of clients and built it after going independent.

The 15-year veteran planner launched her Washington, D.C.-area RIA, Harris & Harris Wealth Management Group, in 2009 after starting her career at Merrill Lynch. Harris is the author of the Finance and Stilettos Blog and the host of the Heels of Success Podcast, in addition to contributing essays to FP and being named a member of Investopedia’s 100 Most Influential Advisors and the CNBC Digital Financial Advisor Council.

In the podcast, FP Chief Correspondent Tobias Salinger asked Harris four questions about her practice’s clients, the most common planning issues for them during the pandemic and the biggest challenges of leaving a wirehouse to launch an independent RIA.
