Execs Moving Up in Bank Wealth Management

What do Huntington Bank, BNY Mellon, SunTrust and U.S. Bank have in common? They all recently named leaders to senior wealth management posts or related investment services businesses.

Sandra "Sandy" Pierce, FirstMerit Corp.
Sandra Pierce, vice chairman of FirstMerit Corp., was tapped to lead Huntington Bank's Private Client Group once Huntington officially acquires FirstMerit. The deal is expected to close this quarter.

Pierce will have responsibility for regional presidents supporting Huntington's Private Client Group and will report directly to Stephen Steinour, Huntington's chairman, president and CEO.

The bank's Private Client Group includes Huntington Wealth and Investment Management, Huntington Private Bank, the Huntington Investment Co., national settlements and retirement services.

Pierce will take over the role from James Dunlap, who will retire in 2017 as the initial phase of the integration of the two companies winds down.

Thomas Dicker, BNY Mellon Wealth Management
Thomas Dicker, a veteran of BNY Mellon and its predecessor companies, stepped into a newly created role leading the bank's wealth management business in the U.S. As head of U.S. markets, he oversees BNY Mellon Wealth Management's 38 U.S. wealth offices and is responsible for driving growth and delivering what the firm calls a "superior client experience" across regional markets.

Dicker reports to Don Heberle, CEO of BNY Mellon Wealth Management, and is based in Boston.

Dicker was previously the firm's chief operating officer, a role he filled for nearly five years. He held several other key leadership positions during his 29 years with BNY Mellon, including overseeing the acquisition of the firm's offices in Toronto, Chicago and Menlo Park.

Kevin Kosmak, BNY Mellon Wealth Management
Kevin Kosmak joined BNY Mellon Wealth Management to assume a newly created role leading a team of nine portfolio managers or "wealth managers" in Chicago. Kosmak was previously with Northern Trust, where he was a senior portfolio manager and team leader.

Victoria Rixon, SunTrust
Victoria Rixon joined SunTrust Private Wealth Management to oversee the division's wealth management teams throughout South Florida. She also serves as a leader and ambassador for SunTrust, the bank said.

Rixon was previously with J.P. Morgan, where she was responsible for the overall management of its private wealth management business from Miami to Jacksonville, excluding Orlando. She spent the last 18 of her more than 30 years in the financial services industry in private banking.

Cat Arnold, U.S. Bank
Cat Arnold, a senior wealth management adviser for U.S. Bank's Private Client Reserve high-net-worth unit, was promoted to a new role leading the wealth adviser team in Seattle as managing director. She has worked in the financial services industry since 1986.

Peter Skovron, U.S. Bank
Peter Skovron, a wealth management adviser for U.S. Bank's Private Client Reserve high-net-worth unit, was promoted to a new role leading a team of 11 banking professionals in Seattle and Bellevue. As private banking managing director, he directs specialized lending and deposit services to support clients' personal and professional banking needs.

Prior to joining the Reserve in March 2010, Skovron was a private client manager at Bank of America. He has worked in the banking and financial services industry since 1993.
