Wells Fargo Recruits Advisors Managing $1B in Combined AUM

Wells Fargo recruited advisors from Morgan Stanley who collectively managed about $1 billion in client assets, the firm said.

In the larger of the moves, Morgan advisors Jonathan Schlackman, Alan Weintraub and Joshua Zamat managed approximately $700 million in assets, according to Wells Fargo.

The team operates from three offices. Schlackman is based in New Orleans; Weintraub is in Birmingham, Ala.; and Zamat joined the Boca Raton, Fla., office.

The trio joined Wells on August 26.

Schlackman started his advisory career in 1977, according to BrokerCheck records. Weintraub started his career at UBS in 2001 while Zamat earned his Series 7 in 1995.

All three advisors joined Morgan from UBS in 2008.

Also in Boca Raton, Wells picked up Morgan Stanley advisors Ronald Perry, John Perry and Patrick Durham. They joined on Sept. 11 and report to branch manager Mike Origlia.

Ronald Perry has 30 years of industry experience, according to BrokerCheck. John Perry has 22 years of experience. They had been with Morgan or its predecessor firms since 2006.

Durham joined Smith Barney in 2000, staying through the firm's merger with Morgan Stanley.

In Short Hills, N.J., Morgan advisor Robin Johnson joined Wells Fargo. He reports to branch manager Mark Klein. Johnson also joined Wells on Sept. 11.

Johnson had been with Morgan or its predecessor firms since 2007, according to BrokerCheck.

A spokeswoman for Morgan Stanley confirmed their departures but declined to comment further.
