FSC Recruits Advisor Team From LPL

FSC Securities Corp., an Atlanta-based broker-dealer, announced that Eric Burton and Ron Whittingham and their practice, Megent Financial, have joined FSC from LPL Financial.

Megent, which has over $250 million in assets under management, is an independent retirement and investment services firm in the greater Chicago area. With industry roots dating back to 1918, Megent works closely with clients who are primarily union workers.

Buron, the managing director of Megent, said the firm chose to move to FSC because of its open architecture platform and its commitment to independence.

"FSC's commitment to helping us recruit talented advisors to our firm is unique to the industry and we were very impressed with the cutting-edge technology offered to advisors," he said. "I'm confident that we will grow our practice and attract many new clients to our firm thanks to our partnership with FSC."

Jerry Murphy, the president and CEO of FSC, said firm wants to "provide advisors with the support, tools and technology they need to focus on what they do best: serving their clients and growing their practice. We have invested heavily in technology designed to save advisors time, and we have built the industry's leading open architecture platform, supported by a diverse product lineup and web-based services. Our value proposition has placed us in a competitive position to recruit advisors to our firm."
