Snowden Lane Hires Merrill Advisor

A Merrill Lynch advisor left the wirehouse to join Snowden Lane Partners, an independent firm founded by former Merrill executives, a spokesman said.

Advisor Alex Arista, as well as private banking and lending specialist Juan Carlos Moreno, joined a Snowden Lane team in San Diego.  The LDR International Group, as the team is known, manages approximately $250 million in client assets, a spokesman says.

Arista had been with Merrill Lynch since 2008, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records.

He is joining a team which left Merrill for Snowden Lane last year. At the time of the move, the group, which specializes in serving Latin American clients, was said to have overseen about $200 million in client assets, according to the firm.

The team is led by Rick Levya, who joined Snowden as a managing director and partner. It also includes managing directors and private wealth advisors Clelia Dipp and Imar Rodriguez, private wealth advisor Christina Eddy and client associate Frances Estrada.
