HighTower Grabs Merrill Team Managing $440M

A Merrill Lynch advisor team managing $440 million in assets has left the wirehouse to join HighTower.

William Wolf and Ethan Collins moved from Newark, N.J., to Red Bank, to join HighTower's Parternship, the firm's employee channel model. This the 46th team to join the partnership, which is one of three options that advisors have when choosing to join the firm.

Wolf joined Merrill in 1998, and has 20-years in the industry, according to FINRA records. Collins joined the wirehouse in 2001. He previously served in the U.S. Army, according to a statement from HighTower.

Earlier this month, HighTower recruited a Merrill team managing $800 million in assets for the firm's partnership. The Fort Myers, Fla.-based group included advisors Pamela Lynn Abraham, Jack Thomas, Trevor Swartz and Mathew Verrengia, as well as senior registered associate Benita Alstatt and client services associate Tiffany Likness.
