Bank of NY ADR Index Celebrates 10th Anniversary

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation is currently celebrating the 10 year anniversary of its ADR Index. This index has become a global benchmark for investments as mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and other structured products are scaled based on its valuation.

The index is the only one in the market to track all depositary receipts and all New York and global recorded shares that are traded on the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ. It is benchmarked to approximately $3 billion in fund products encompassing 374 companies within 36 countries. It has outperformed the S&P 500 over 80% in the past six years and has doubled its initial market capitalization reaching $6.7 trillion.

Such companies that are found in the ADR Index are dominants such as HSBC, Toyota and Royal Dutch Shell.
