Berkshire Analyst Starts Own Fund

Investment research analyst Ian Jacobs, who has worked at Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. since 2003, is reportedly planning to launch his own fund on March 1.

Jacobs' 402 Fund LP will concentrate on eight to 12 primary holdings, probably in domestic value stocks. The fund will use a traditional investment approach to preserve capital and achieve long-term, compounded annual returns through long-only investments.

Prior to joining Berkshire Hathaway, Jacobs worked at Goldman Sachs. He has a business degree from Columbia University.
