Bowne Hires Blake to Spearhead XBRL

Bowne has hired Rob Blake as director, interactive services, a position in which he will create comprehensive extensible business reporting language (XBRL) and extensible markup language (XML) services.

“Bowne has been a pioneer in supporting interactive data and continues to demonstrate its commitment to XBRL, both as a service provider and as a participating company,” said Erika Craven, vice president, strategic marketing at Bowne Financial Communications.

“We’re committed to minimizing the impact future [XBRL] mandates [by the SEC} will have on our clients, and the addition of Rob to our team goes a long way toward solidifying and expanding those efforts.”

Blake is a founding member of XBRL International, a consortium of more than 550 technology, accounting and finance companies founded in 1999 to develop XBRL.
