Dalbar of Boston has announced its tenth annual service awards for mutual fund companies.
This year's winners were Van Kampen Funds of Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., Putnam Investments of Boston, Invesco of Denver, Colo., OppenheimerFunds of New York, Seligman Funds of New York, AIM Funds of Houston, Tex., Evergreen Funds of Boston, Chase Vista Funds of New York and Nations Funds of Charlotte, N.C.
Dalbar rates each company by calling its customer service department and determining the response time and quality of the firm's response to each call. The calls include requests for information and for opening and closing accounts. Companies that exceed the industry averages on the tests earn a service award.
Van Kampen earned special notice for having won a service award for the tenth straight year. Putnam has earned nine mutual fund service awards.
